Astheria
The Author
Astheria is the personal site of Kyle Meyer, a user interface designer at Clockwork Active Media Systems in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The goal of Astheria.com is to provide design articles, viewpoints, and resources that are not the same regurgitated, rewritten articles that seem to plague the design blogosphere. It has been featured on numerous website galleries as well as published in .Net Magazine.
In addition to writing here, I am the founder and editor of Typesites, a site devoted to teaching web typography through the critique and analysis of sites with interesting type.
If you would like to stalk me you can find me on Twitter, Last.fm, and Flickr.
The Design
As a personal site, Astheria.com is a bit of a visual playground. While I strive to keep things simple and easy to use, it’s a great place to experiment as well. Examples of progressive design patterns include the archives.
This version of the design addresses overall organizational problems between lengthy articles and shorter posts. As well as increasing hierarchy, legibility, and strengthening visual aspects. You can learn more in the post About the Redesign.
